I was going to post this in the Parasite SEO group because it's something Partha has been schooling us on over there.
So, from your Reddit homepage feed you just select the 'New' posts, top left. Then if you can get the first comment in on a post or reply to the first or second comment and you make it a bit 'riskay' or controversial ... it will get lots of upvotes.
I commented on the North Korean Olympic team recently, pretty innocently, and it blew up. Went crazy and got 600+ upvotes I think.
Another one today ... bit smaller. 127 upvotes so far but it proves the effectiveness of what Partha has been saying. I've taken a new Reddit account to nearly 1000 Karma already.
I have zero experience with Reddit so no idea if that's impressive or not, maybe a bit "WA" lol 
being controversial always definitely works;-) It's hard to get controversial in my niche though, unless I use AI pictures, then they are all over me and ban me even on Reddit lol
I am always hoping for some 'negative' feedback on my Youtube channel, so I can use that negativity on my FB group or others FB groups, but I hardly get them hahaha. Some time ago, I got a 'complaint' for one of my mini tutorials, and I used that to go play the 'have pitty on me' card, I think I got 10 dollars more for that one video and multiple extra subscribers hahahaha
@ohnoo_not_her it's pretty easy to get people riled up in the vegan niche ... just the mention of the word is enough to set some people off ...
OK, so I spent the last hour commenting on new Reddit posts and linking back to something of mine. In doing so I saw an awesome Idea.
Testing it out on our We Review group. Can't say that it will work the way I imagined without the image lead. But I do need the Karma to post in other groups.
Nice one Don. I've found generally, the Reddit user can be a bit sensitive. With one or two exceptions, I've been avoiding linking back to anything until I have established some kind of usage profile.
The vegan thread I mildly upset someone on did win me about 10 negative Karma ... so that's something to bear in mind. That was more than outweighed by the positive Karma on the rest of the thread though so not a biggie 🙂
But I know nothing about Reddit so I'm not in any position to offer advice really.
