So a few months ago, my Pinterest numbers were going down for some reason, but then I started focusing on video content (thanks to Diane).

In Dutch we have an expression : 'for an apple and an egg', meaning for not a lot of money, you can buy all sorts of videos on Etsy for social media content, and use them on Pinterest ao (Instagram as well, for example, I just hardly use Instagram).

Just pinning twice a day or sometimes a bit more, and lately again not even every day, my traffic is on the rise again! And for the first time ever, I get quite a few comments on Pinterest, I'm not really used to that, so it's pretty good for engagment.

That is all lol

So two quick questions - what were your stats from a year ago, and which pins are doing better?

The reason I ask is because I'm curious to see how much of the video pinning is contributing to the increase of traffic as opposed to any seasonal pins that may be taking off right about now (in preparation for the holidays/New Year).

Ok, I understand what you are saying, totally right to ask it Smile So, I'm not good at statistics and true, it can be seasonal.
So I went back as far as possible, to may 2023, as I think in my niche summer is totally not the season for crafting, everyone is outdoors.

I have been getting messages though, that even large Pinterest creators have seen a decline (not sure about the exact time period anymore), just like what happened in Google. (did you notice any changes as well?)
My decline was not that bad, but still like lost a few thousands outbound clicks during that time.

So again, to be honest, I don't understand my own statistics, lol, but I've never seen this spike before during holidays or even by the end of the year. It is always a bit slower in summer, but the large drop you see there, was already at the very start of June.

Pins like this are doing great https://www.pinterest.com/pin/408560997467943259/ , besides AI pictures, which is cynical because people in my niche don't like AI lol

How is your Pinterest been doing in the last 6 months? I've read that a lot of people were 'hit' as well, like hit from Google?

@ohnoo_not_her I would say our accounts are doing okay - since we had our second child and moved (and now that child doesn't want to sleep through the nights right now, lol), my wife hasn't had the right amount of time to fully manage them, which is what I would attribute most of our fluctuations to.

So all in all, we're pretty stable, but there is definitely room for improvement (which my wife is currently working on. A lot of exciting things to try here soon!).

I actually just shot a video on how to check your recent pins, which you can find here: https://digitalmatrixcafe.com/community/pinterest/how-to-see-which-of-your-recent-pins-are-ranking-on-pinterest/

Interestingly, I found out that our outbound clicks have gone up while our impression have stayed about the same. Anyways, thought you might enjoy taking a look at that. Let me know what you think!

@andy I have been trying to add more video pins but in my niche I can´t see difference. The keywords are much more important.
But! I change the complete format, used 3-4 the same color, 3-4 fonts, and also always the same. Work then, or 6-7 different formats on pins, and this has started to change things.
Plus I have 8 days between pin on the same post.
