The best news since I was reading from the party spoiler John Muller!
Great!

I'm really sorry. I saw that the party spoiler was reposting this today, and I'm not sure I understand it right. I think so, and even less if it was important.
So, for the benefit of the doubt, I copy/paste it. Sorry to send an indirect post like this!
"Reminder: Popular all-in-one SEO tools tend to include a feature called "Site Audit". This often allows a user to export a list of issues that the tool has uncovered.

A PDF export from an SEO tool is not an SEO audit.

The sections of these tools that are called "Site Audit" are not really an SEO audit either.

The output from these tools can give clarity to the person managing your SEO about the overall state of your site's technical SEO, and any issues that may be in play, but there needs to be a person involved in the process. A (good) SEO audit requires a human brain to have applied critical thinking skills and logic, to have synthesised information, and to provide a list of priorities that are most likely to have the biggest impact on your SEO performance."

Exactly,there's more to it than just using the tool. Reason why so many SEO's out there after the updates are called scammers, they just have their team using those tools and then charge thousands of dollars for just doing that. I see so many complaints about this on Twitter. Those SEO's are just making money by 'using the right tools", while they never made any money themselves with their own niche sites. Just like on WA actually. (besides Vitaly, I have never seen anyone of the teachers on there talk about their income with their niche sites, besides a lucky shot here and there , YEARS ago. And one guy still gathering income with one Youtube video leading towards WA)

@noteboom Yep, 100% agree.

I have ALWAYS said to use tools as a guide, but nothing beats human interaction.

In fact, for something like an SEO audit via semrush or ahrefs, it takes about 5 minutes to do, looks really professional in a PDF file, so people are willing to pay lots of money, but, it mainly DOESN'T MAKE ANY SENSE... hahahahaha!!

In fact, you'll often see things via semrush or ahrefs on an SEO sudit that say things like "errors" and "critical errors", and they will be 100s and 100s.

But, if someone knows what they're doing, once they investigate it's easy to see that these "errors" MAKE NO DIFFERENCE WHATSOEVER.

It's very similar to when Google Search Console tells you that have 100s of unindexed articles, but when you investigate you see that the urls all end in (feed), (author), (tag), etc.

So, these AREN'T IMPORTANT.

Personally, I still use tools like semrush and ahrefs to START an audit or website review, BUT then I do EVERYTHING MANUALLY MYSELF.

In fact, you can check with a few people here who have had a website review from me...

Typically, they get a DOC of about 6,000 - 10,000 words written BY ME based on WHAT I THINK (I never include the semrush and ahrefs reports because I know they will cause confusion).

Anyway, the above, and what I'm currently doing is about 12 types of KEYWORD RESEARCH and 3 types of BACKLINK RESEARCH (and I will also include how to write emails to these website owners to try to obtain these backlinks, etc.)

@partha That looks amazing, Partha.

I use a free version of Semrush and after the March update I had 0 keywords ranking and DA dropped from 10 to 3. Moz is still showing me DA 12

During the August update I started to rank on some keywords, now 29, but all on position 50-100. Very funny, right? I don't know whether to laugh or cry.

Congratulations to Lizzy 👋

thanks!
I'm not there yet though, far from the level of before September 23. And my DA went down from 30 to 22 on Moz. But could be worse, and traffic is rising from my socials :-), which is what I'm mainly focussing on.

@ohnoo_not_her About DA and Moz. It's strange, looking at all the other factors, but I have kept my DA rating on Moz.

Not because of that, but I have always used Moz for this statistic because I trust them the most to get a hint.
Because it was most accessible in the start, I have always had statics about other things from Semrush, but I have never been much of a Semrush man.
Ahrefs are my favorite, but the prices there are so big that I had only taken months and months with even more than years between.

What about Abie though? Clearly absolutely nailing it

... not that I ever visit WA any more. Still have a chuckle at the rare WA email which manages to get past the spam filter, every now and then 🤣

@rohanm I genuinely miss WA, it made me angry and laugh hysterically in equal amounts!

The very last thing I saw was Kyle's announcement about getting to Vegas next year, lol.

Yep, you too can hang out with the regular 4 affiliates who will probably be the only ones there!

@diane ha ha ha!

At least they won't have to fork out too much on expenses.

🤣 🤣 🤣 🤣 🤣 🤣 🤣

The only one I still appreciate over there, is Vitally. I answer his short vids sometimes, and a few days after that, he made a new short video, taking into account on what I said and making things clearer for people. At least he is trying and listens to others. He is also the only one at the moment who is thinking about other ways to make money than with your site only. 'Benjisdad', in premium plus, used to do that to, and loved him for it (facebook groups, flipping websites, etc..), but they chased him away, told me he couldn't give lessons anymore on the platform for some reason. AAAArgh

Abie is the biggest PRO SEO ever, she is an ambassador of the entire internet, didn't you know? hahahaha!

Well, she could get my stress level higher anyway, every time I got a confirmation email when I asked a question on WA, and she answered it lol. And she didn't stop, until I started to remove her 'answers' to my questions. Apparently she realized that I was now always going to do this lol

So, in effect, you could do the above for Reddit and have 1,000 "very easy" keywords in your niche in about 10 minutes,

All sounds amazing Partha. Very much looking forward to stepping things up with SEMRush.

I'm ranking well on Reddit for many of my reviews with '[product name] review' as the target ... but the traffic is very low. On a couple of reviews I tried other keywords like 'what is the best' etc but the competition is too high.

It sounds like SEMRush is the missing piece of the puzzle!

Ha ha ha! She does supply some rather nice strawberries though 🙂

I need to stop all this merriment and get some work done!
