it looks like anti spam was an issue with certain themes and other plugins back in 2022....probably where i remember it from....proving that once you get a bad reputation it sticks for a loooong time...
the fact that it is still around should give you confidence that is it works then carry on using it....
i do use another hosting than wa and have sucuri added - any login attempts i get notified about and can do something about....
