Everyone seems to think that the Wealthy Affiliate writer is brilliant

Hey Roy, I totally agree with your sentiments!

I would summarise: "Everyone seems to think that Wealthy Affiliate is brilliant" ... although I wonder how many members secretly sit there thinking to themselves "this is nonsense, isn't it?".

🤣 🤣

@rohanm Thank you for your reply, Rohan, it's appreciated!

I have always had my reservations about AI, and to be fair to Wealthy Affiliate, I probably would not have touched AI, if it wasn't for their training. However, just as I expected, the majority of people ignore the training and create full AI content or as good as!

I guess the problem is that Wealthy Affiliate has a lot of new people, who in the best possible way know nothing; I appreciate that we have all been there, so it makes it seem absolutely brilliant.

I don't want to knock Wealthy Affiliate, I joined almost ten years ago, but was already making money, but I did like the idea of having up-to-date training and mixing with like-minded people.

It will be interesting to see how many people go to Las Vegas this year, I believe the numbers will be considerably down. I believe that this is due to AI, as it literally put Google in a spin, and all of a sudden, they had so much content hitting them. But that's just my personal opinion, I could well be wrong.

It does make me wonder how many people may be thinking just that, Rohan.😁

@RoyBretton Well, bearing in mind that only 4 people went to Vegas last year, how much lower can they go!

@diane I must admit I didn't know that, Diane, but I did get the feeling that it wasn't many, unfortunately. I noticed that they have lowered the number to 50 signups from September to December, which also suggested something to me!

I noticed my username is a bunch of letters and numbers, Diane, I'm guessing there is a way that I can change that, please?

@RoyBretton Hey 7q9 double O!

I'll take care of this tonight. I think when I added a plugin a while ago a bunch of people's names got switch/changed. I'm not sure if I/you can change the long string of digits, but I'll figure what I can do, and then update you accordingly.

@andy Thank you very much, Andy, I appreciate that. I don't even know what my username was, but I am more than happy if you use my full name. I believe there is another Roy on the forum who used to be on Wealthy Affiliate.

PS: 00 sounds important!! 😀

@RoyBretton Hey double O!

Surprisingly it was an easy fix. 10/10 for the WPX guys. I didn't even have to do anything. They took care of it all. You should be good to go. Your time as a secret agent is no longer needed Cry

@andy Thank you for fixing the issue, Andy; it's appreciated. That's good to know that WPX fixed the issue promptly, a good advert for their hosting! Now I've lost the double 00 name!

@RoyBretton Roy! I don't know how to contact you here in person, but I noticed your question on WA about Amazon!

( as you know I have been silenced there, so I got mad when no one responded in the correct way)

You CAN actually join Amazon for several countries at once under ONE account, you just need to apply for every country separately, if I remember correctly. And then link it to one account. It has been like that for quite some years now.

Quite annoying how the 'community' there leads people AWAY FROM MAKING MONEY instead of actually making money, djees.

The screenshot is from my account:

I hope you read this,

Lizzy

@ohnoo_not_her I haven't been on WA since my free account was banned, lol, so I haven't seen the question.

But yes, Amazon has a tool called OneLink, which connects your shops automatically, when you join other countries.

But a few things to note - for each new country you join, you have to make 3 sales in 180 days.

The affiliate link must be from Amazon.com, and then when somebody clicks, Amazon sends them to their own country.

And it only works with text links.

@diane Hello Diane,

Thank you for responding to my question, via Lizzy, and via Wealthy Affiliate! It's the sort of question that you would have answered almost immediately, I think if you had still been on the Wealthy Affiliate platform!

I think I asked a similar question on Wealthy Affiliate a year or so ago, but it's quite long-winded going through old questions, as I don't think there is a search functionality. Unfortunately, I don't find the Wealthy Affiliate search particularly helpful.

My current Amazon affiliate program is based in the UK, so I will need to set up an Amazon.com affiliate program. I used to have an affiliate account with Amazon.com, I'm not sure what happened.

I appreciate your help.

Are you likely to be returning to Wealthy Affiliate, Diane, I believe that you are missed on the platform. I have a feeling I know what the answer will be!

All the best.

Roy

@RoyBretton Hi Roy - hope you are well.

No, I won't be returning, despite the auto-generated emails from Kyle and Carson, who would allegedly love to see me return!

I very much doubt that!

@diane I thought that's what you are going to say, Diane! Although it's a job to keep up with everyone, I think that quite a few of the familiar names have probably left the platform, unfortunately. You will definitely be missed, Diane.

@ohnoo_not_her Hello Lizzy,

I hope that you are doing well, despite being silenced at Wealthy Affiliate.

I appreciate you coming back to me regarding my question and I also see that Diane has responded. This is good, as I know that Diane created or certainly knows about the Amazon affiliate program, etc, and promoting it to multiple countries.

I had heard that you can join the Amazon affiliate program under one account, but I just wondered if it had been streamlined or made easier. But it looks like things are still the same, which is fine.

It's a shame that you still can't communicate on Wealthy Affiliate, as I believe your subscription still has a few months to run. How long is your ban for, Lizzy?

Once again, I appreciate your help.

@RoyBretton welcome Roy!

That ban is forever I would think haha. It's just a shame that some people I followed on the platform, that I can't communicate with them anymore, even though they mentioned my name in a post.
On the other hand, it saves me a lot of time not being there often anymore. As soon as all my domains are transferred, I will leave anyway.
Good luck to you!

@ohnoo_not_her That's not good, Lizzy, but I know what you're saying about saving time, it can be time-consuming chatting to people. I must admit over the years, I have met some very good people on the platform, it's a shame that you can't communicate with them any more; that makes it difficult, especially when it is sudden.

I hope you can get all your domains moved across successfully, I'm sure you will.

All the best.

@ohnoo_not_her Good morning Lizzy,

Thank you for letting me know, it's appreciated. I actually thought that was what had probably happened as I believe it was on this forum that I read that you had some sort of ban on Wealthy Affiliate. Is a silence ban the same as a writing ban or are they different? Incidently, I didn't think you were ignoring me.

Do you know the reason for the ban, Lizzy? I'm guessing it's due to the fact that you didn't go along with the Wealthy Affiliate narrative!

Have a great day.

Roy

Hi Roy, a silence ban is the same as a writing ban 🙂

Well, I can guess what happened, as you say : being too critical sometimes, but I will never know because they don't give a reason at all. And then they sent me these strange emails from Kyle with a ten-day notice of my domain getting removed in ten days (while it is still valuable and paid for 15 days and I have moved hosting quite some time ago).

Anyway, I am transferring all domains as well, I am in the process of doing this to WPX. This was the last time that they got me mad and waisting time and energy. It will be much more peaceful to me anyway to not answer anything there any longer lol. So all is good! 🙂

Have a great day!

Lizzy

I believe that this is due to AI, as it literally put Google in a spin, and all of a sudden, they had so much content hitting them. But that's just my personal opinion, I could well be wrong.

I agree Roy. Google has been sidestepped by the rapid rise of AI. They can't tell the difference between a skillfully prompted piece of AI content and human written content.

Even the AI detectors are nowhere near. There's no way Google has the resources to check every article they index for AI. They may do some basic checks for obvious footprints but as long as you're using humanising prompts and other footprint removers then they'll struggle to filter that content out!

... and this is why so many hard working bloggers have been annihilated by the recent updates. Google don't care - it's just collateral damage as far as they're concerned.

@rohanm To have so much content all of a sudden, must've been a massive shock to Google or any platform come to that!

It's interesting that Google cannot detect AI content, I hope they will be able to soon. Maybe Google needs AI to check if it's AI content!!😃

Whether you are someone who uses AI to create content or not, as soon as I detect AI content, I normally withdraw from reading, as in general, I want to hear someone's personal experience, not AI's experience! The Wealthy Affiliate reviews are the classic example of AI; they are not really reviews; they are just AI content. There will be many disappointed Wealthy Affiliate members when they realise that 10,000 more people have just written a very similar Wealthy Affiliate review!

It's a shame that it's making it difficult for genuine bloggers, this was always my fear when I saw all the excitement on Wealthy Affiliate about AI!

My honest "quick and FACTUAL" review of WA:

19 years, over 3,000,000 members, let's say at least 50% have promoted WA, LESS THAN 50 PEOPLE in the ENTIRE 19 year hostiry have qualified for Vegas... Let that sink in!!!

The reason it's been dropped to 50 is because still NO-ONE over the last few years has hit the 100 referrals in the last 4 months of the year (which if someone used their brain would work out is still the equivalent of 300 sales per year, i.e. 100 sales in 4 months is the equivalent of 300 sales in 12 months... so if you're not getting anywhere near to 300 sales a year, you're NOT going to make 100 sales in the final 4 months of the year.

No-one that I am aware of has made a full-time living from the "best training in the world" since the beginning of 2020... that's almost 5 years... let that sink in.

All of Kyle's blogs over the past year have been focused on "how brilliant WA is" and "all the new stuff coming out" (why would you need new stuff CONSTANTLY if it's the "best trainig in the world")

Kyle talks positively about the platform and everyone laps it up (there is much talk about WA "being like a cult"... hmmm... let's have a think... the "leader" tells you how brilliant everything is and his "followers" repeat it over-and-over again, with no INDIVIDUAL proof

The vast majority of active members are NOT successful (we have a very active 6 year member at the moment talking about "articles getting indexed" and "getting 10 visitors per month"

Probably the longest current active member (who I do like, but hate it when they say the following) always states "the only people who fail are the ones who give up"... eerrm, that is bloddy obvious!!! Hahahahahhahaha!! The definition of failure is "giving up", but I would suggest that if you are no further on one year down the line then EITHER you need to look at how you spend your time learning and TAKING ACTION or perhaps it is time to give up... personally, I feel it's that most people don't know how to learn and how to take action... which is where something like personal coaching comes in (but people expect to pay a pittance to receive coaching from a 7-figure earner... eeermmm, I could earn more in McDonald's per hour thanks very much, hahahahahhaha!!! (That said, new post later, I have something that WILL be of interest to those of you who want to pay me $0.01 per day for coaching, hahahahaha!!!)

The "owner" of the platform has not created a website (and followed through on it) in over 8-9 years (how can you give advice, and even worse, been seen as the "main expert" when you're not doing the work yourself on a daily basis?)

The person deemed the "most helpful person on the platform" does not have a clue about the main part of this business (on-page and off-page SEO), this is so obvious it's almost embarrassing, I would suggest that WA members who still believe that the "most helpful person on the platform" knows what they're talking about, after being a member themselves for at least 6 months is not cut out for this business (you have to learn to understand who is talking from a place of knowledge and who is talking utter BS).

The main SEO training is being given by "Experts" who have mainly promoted WA via YOUTUBE AND PAID ADS!!!!!!!!!!!!! Let that sink in!!!

I would only really listen to 2, maximum 3 of the "experts"

The hosting is poor, terrible, I would say that a $3/month from Hostinger or Bluehost is better.

Why are people so accepting on Hosting downtime??? (I have websites that recieve over 1,000,000 visitors PER MONTH, I don't EVER have downtime, it's a weekly occurrence at WA)

SiteSupport is NOT GOOD at all, in fact extremely poor, and yet they are often congratulated for PROBLEMS THEY CREATED IN THE FIRST PLACE!!!

Members have become so used to constantly repeating "positive mantras" is almost embarrassing, plus this is what most new members are doing within days of joining (this says a LOT about the "mental fortitude" of new memebrs)

Personally, I think it's a great place to join if you want to know how to set up WordPress, you are low on confidence and need others to gee you up, and you are looking for an online social outlet...

THE END!!!!

@partha That's an interesting, quick and factual review, Partha, it's good to listen to the people who know. As many of you know, I have been a member of Wealthy Affiliate for almost ten years, I do very much like the platform. I like the up-to-date training, especially perhaps if it's something about WordPress, although I have probably only watched and listened to 5% of the training on the Wealthy Affiliate platform. That's not because I don't want to look at the training, but some of it is probably irrelevant and is also a time thing, as I have an offline business.

I also like the fact of being able to meet with like-minded people. However, I like the idea of being able to ask a question, but I am also aware that I could potentially get some very silly answers, but some good ones, too!

I have noticed that in the last couple of years on the Wealthy Affiliate platform, there have been very few wins, prior to this, I would say that I saw a lot more success stories and some of these were from people who were very quiet on the platform.

I had no idea that only 19 people have only ever qualified for Vegas, although, when I see the photographs of the event, there appears to only be a handful of people there.

That's rather concerning that no one has made a living full-time, in the past five years. However, from time to time, as I mentioned in the previous paragraph, I do see some very inactive people on the platform who are successful.

There are a lot of people who join platforms like Wealthy Affiliate, who think they will be successful within a few days, we know that this isn't realistic! Interestingly enough, apparently, there are 4,240,000 self-employed people and 28,830,000 people working as employees in the UK. This suggests that the majority of people prefer to work for someone else; they may have dreams, but unless we take solid action, nothing will happen.

It would be great if the owners of the platform could demonstrate their results on their own personal websites. To me, this would be a great advert that the platform genuinely works. I actually mentioned it to Kyle in the comment a few weeks ago.

I would say that the hosting is okay just to get you started, but once you start to get traffic, it's just terrible. I have seen so many people praise site support, which is actually awful. I actually wrote a blog post on the platform and basically got shouted down! I have messages within site support that added up to many conversations being well over 100 messages going back and forth! Site support can only deal with the last message, they cannot go back through the conversation. I am going back several years now, but I am much better off now with a dedicated server.

I agree with your last paragraph, Partha!

Roy

@partha I honestly agree with you, I have been a victim of their positive environment, lol. But seriously, as you said about the

"The person deemed the "most helpful person on the platform" does not have a clue about the main part of this business (on-page and off-page SEO), this is so obvious it's almost embarrassing"

It's also why I started to reading your content, and started listening to what you said. Right now I'm not even going to waste my money on WA, I'm leaving. Thanks to Andy, WPX will be my new hosting platform. I honestly never use ANYTHING at WA, I'm just a member basically.

So I'm letting my membership run out, and I'm leaving, there is no point of me being there.

@partha God to see you are well covered.

Let us know if you need help.

I follow

I see you have got good advice here.

If you need any help, let US know.

I don´t know anything about it but I will follow this thread with intresting.

All of this is the best way to get high of their useless ranking system, best proof how god it is.

3 weeks ago, I didn´t manage to go to my site. After sending and explaining the Site support and answering start and useless questions, I needed to wait 24 hours. Then they admit that they were getting new software or what it is called and fit it in.

I was having problems with a lot of beginner things, and with work, it was fine to start there. But it hurt to see all the wrong advice and realise how things is. Not at least because my strength and weakness is to be loyal. Guess it is too from the sport.
So, even though big and helpful friends of mine offered me free hosting and free backlink help, I didn´t sadly take that great offer. Even so I know that people was and is super great!
But I didn´t know enough to understand the fails and wrong advice. I would have been on a very different place is I had said yes.

Even so, after being there in 2-3 years I will never ever again be in Bluehost!

@partha - Mic Drop!

Very true, all of it...The site support is laughable...they do create problems where none should be.

My renewal comes up in Nov, and that will be my last year there. Sad, but I'm there only for the hosting at this time....I have many websites, and need to find the best host for the money to accommodate multiple websites, not just 5 or 10.

I have learned what NOT to do, by being at WA, but more importantly, I've learned what I was doing wrong....And now I am taking the right action. 'Sometimes quickly, sometimes slowly...'

I think the only other thing that you missed is that even the 'experts' who promote WA don't make a full-time income from only what they make from WA - it's almost like it's just side money, and they make more with other products they've created/affiliated with.

@andy Very true, I forgot to say that when I was offered to become a "coaching expert" by Kyle about 3.5 years ago, it would've been a paid position (I didn't ask how much, I just declined), so clearly they are all getting paid for their "expert classes".

Furthermore, without trying to come across as arrogant, I think it was seen as a shrewd business move by the owners to get me to do Premium Plus classes, due to my "popularity" on the platform at the time (the expectation would've been, "Have Partha create expert classes and hopefully the upgrade numbers would increase substantially)

And finally, forgot to add, that the main concept behind the WA keyword tool is "exact match keywords" and this is STILL the main concept behind their keyword research (hasn't been a "thing" since the Google Hummingbird Update, so nearly a decade ago since "exact match" keyword research was a thing).

And as you're here, can you have a look at Roy's query above, i.e. username is in digits... I had a quick look on WordPress, but saw that you can't change the username, so didn't want to touch anything else incase I "broke" anything!!! Hahahaha!!
